Wild Burger, conceptually born in 2001, the brain child of Chef Suman Roy, on a warm summers night. While sitting on the shores of Lake Ontario in Toronto, he opened his day timer (sorry, no smart phones for the Chef back then) and began making notes about an exciting restaurant concept.
You see, at this time the Burger Craze had begun, in it’s infancy. As a Professional Chef, Suman began to ponder; how can Burgers be a different, and more exciting?
During his vast world culinary travels, he noted that they all created the same burgers changing only the breads and toppings. Simply, this was boring for Chef Suman. So, in his mind, he took this a giant leap forward, and the Wild Burger concept was born. As is the case for most dreams, without the adequate finances to move forward and in the presence of a market that just wasn’t ready for this bold new idea, this concept remained in the ageing pages of his day timer. With this dream safely locked away in his day timer, The Chef moved on with this life while occasionally thinking to himself, “what if…”
It would be many years later, in 2014 before this concept would intersect with reality, when one day he sat with one of his friends and talked about this idea. His friend jumped up and encouraged him to actually invest and open up what we know today as as one of TORONTO.COM’s top ten burger restaurants, Wild Burger.

We are a locally owned, sustainable Gastro-Burger concept that will be positioned as an international franchise through our creative approach to our menu, and committed service. Wild Burger provides a combination of excellent, local and sustainable food, incorporating ingredients integral to Canadian cuisine and culture. Wild Burger brings to life the diversity and multiculturalism that Canada is known for, incorporating the variety of wild meats that we take pride in here in Canada as well as exotic international flavours.
Chef Suman’s philosophy behind his delicacies is simple: “think global, eat local.” With this same simple formula, he blends global spices and flavours into Canadian and a few imported meats to create a uniquely delicious experience with every burger.
